Meeting outside Notting Hill Gate tube station at Pret, 11am
We can discuss the theory part and get to know each other over a warm drink before we head to the Portobello Market and side streets for a day full of photo opportunities where I will be at hand to help, assist and offer constructive advice/feedback/direction and of course technical suggestions.
Here are the subjects that we will touch upon:
- Legal frame work on photography in the street, what you can and cannot do and the grey areas depending on where you are.
- Technical, choice of settings, camera, lenses and styles. Shooting by distance settings, from hip or eye level, hyperfocal distance setting according to focal lenght depending on what suits you best for both digital and film.
- Choice of subjects/theme. Artistic voice.
- Going out and taking photos!
Just bring your camera and lens of choice. In general terms between 28 and 35-ish mm fits most people for full frame street but it is an artistic choice and many will differ as what suits them best. If you are not sure what lens to grab I would suggest a kit zoom lens, a 24-70mm, a 35 or a 28-ish mm lens and experience if they suit you during that day, basically bring something that you already have. No need for tripod.
Any camera will do just fine, digital, film, full frame, croped sensor…
We will wrap up when is dark.
Any questions please get in touch
Looking forward to it!
